PA TURNPIKE CLOSED: Air medical lands at crash scene
A crash shut down a stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike on Friday, according to turnpike officials. Video above: Headlines from WGAL News 8 Today.The crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-76 at mile marker 219 in West Pennsboro Township. All eastbound lanes were shut down between the Breezewood and Carlisle exits. The left lane has since reopened. Officials said the westbound lanes were also temporarily closed for a short time to allow for an air medical helicopter to land at the scene. The extent of injuries is unknown at this time.
