Oxnard man critically injured in motorcycle crash

A 52-year-old motorcyclist from Oxnard is hospitalized in critical condition after he was injured in a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Ventura Road and Doris Avenue in Oxnard Friday. The Oxnard Police Department responded to a crash between a 2013 Harley Davidson Road King and a 2024 Nissan Altima at the intersection at about 6:23 a.m. The motorcyclist was lying in the roadway when police arrived. “He was transported by ambulance to the Ventura County Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition,” Oxnard PD said. The driver of the Nissan, a 33-year-old man from Oxnard, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said. The man was ejected from the motorcycle after he crashed into the side of the car, investigators said. “Preliminary investigation revealed the motorcyclist had been riding southbound [on] Ventura Road in moderate traffic conditions,” Oxnard PD said. “He split the traffic lanes (riding between vehicles) as he approached Doris Avenue. The driver of the Nissan had been traveling northbound [on] Ventura Road. The driver made a left turn at the intersection of Doris Avenue.  The motorcyclist broadsided the Nissan and was ejected from his motorcycle.” Drug or alcohol use is not suspected in the crash, police said. It’s unclear at this time if any of the involved drivers were speeding at the time of the crash. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Oxnard PD at (805) 385-7600.
