One person killed after lawnmower accident in West Virginia
BRANCHLAND, WV (WVNS) - One person is dead after a lawnmower accident in West Virginia. According to a press release from the West Virginia State Police, after being dispatched by Lincoln County 911 regarding a death investigation, members of the West Virginia State Police Hamlin Detachment responded to a residence in Branchland, WV, on Isaacs Lane. The press release stated that during the investigation, members of the West Virginia Police Hamlin Detachment discovered that while a zero-turn mower that was being used by 62-year-old Barry Brunty of Branchland, WV, it went into a creek after sliding over an embankment, causing a victim to be pinned underneath the mower. CPR was administered by the Troopers and emergency responders at the scene; however, the victim was subsequently taken to St. Mary's Medical Center where they were later pronounced dead due to the injuries sustained during the mower accident. The next of kin have been informed of the victim's death. According to the press release, foul play is not currently suspected. The West Virginia State Police are still investigating the matter.
