One person injured in semi-truck accident on US-131 in Grand Rapids

A semi-truck collision on US-131 in downtown Grand Rapids led to the closure of the highway and significant traffic delays on Tuesday. The incident, which occurred at noon near the I-196 interchange, resulted in one person being hospitalized. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. A camera from News 8 showed the truck veering off the road, and reports indicate that a hazmat team from the Grand Rapids Fire Department had to manage a diesel fuel spill as a result. Michigan State Police mentioned that the cleanup operation would take several hours, with the left lanes initially blocked and the entire highway shut down by 5:30 p.m.
