One dead, multiple injured in 4-car crash in Niskayuna
NISKAYUNA, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- One person has died from injuries sustained in a four-car, head-on crash on Troy-Schenectady Road Monday night. According to the Niskayuna Fire District 2, the crash happened after 9:00 p.m. The Niskayuna Police Department said around 9:25 p.m. they were dispatched to a two-car head-on crash near Riverview Road and discovered two additional cars had crashed into the cars. When crews arrived on scene, four passengers were treated on scene before being transported to nearby hospitals. Police said three drivers were transported to Ellis Hospital and the fourth was sent to Albany Medical Center. One of the drivers transported to Ellis Hospital died as a result of their injuries. The three other drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. According to the fire department, no first responders were injured in the incident. Police said the investigation remains ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the police department, referencing case number CAD #26-056767, at (518) 386-4589. The Niskayuna Police Department was assisted by the Schenectady Sheriff's Office, Niskayuna Fire District 2 and the New York State Police.
