One dead in Upstate motorcycle wreck
PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - A motorcyclist died Sunday morning in a crash after he reportedly fled a traffic stop. According to the Pickens County Coroner's Office, at around 1:45 a.m. deputies with the Pickens County Sheriff's Office attempted a traffic stop of a motorcycle in the area of Saluda Dam Road and Prince Perry Road. The rider reportedly attempted to run from deputies and crashed on Saluda Dam Road. The rider, identified as Stephen Buck Bowman, of Greenville, was pronounced dead at the scene. Coroner's said Bowman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. An autopsy has been scheduled in his death. The incident is being investigated by the Pickens County Coroner's Office and highway patrol.
