Five teens seriously hurt, 1 charged with DUI in Tunnel Hill crash
Five teenagers are recovering from serious injuries and one of them is facing charges following a crash in North Georgia. Thursday we're digging into what happened. According to the Georgia State Patrol, the crash happened on Keith Road in Tunnel Hill. GSP says there was only one car involved. Multiple passengers were ejected from the car. The GSP report we obtained shows first responders took the driver and all four-passengers to Erlanger Main after the crash. According to the report, the driver, 18-year-old Hunter Stoker, was under the influence and lost control. All 5 teens involved in the crash were injured, according to the report. That includes 15-year-old Brady Tinzlee. Her family tells us she had surgery Wednesday evening on her broken clavicle and hip. Tinzlee's family hired an attorney, Zack England with England Law Firm, to represent them. "Brady, who I represent, is still really.. I don't want to say fighting for her life, but is still in very touch and go condition down to Shepherdson in Atlanta," England says. A GoFundMe page says another victim, 16-year-old Peyton Todd, is in the ICU due to several injuries to her back, clavicle, spleen, and lungs. Stoker faces a DUI charge in this case, renewing the conversation about drunk driving. "There's no excuse for it, especially driving under the influence with a minor involved, that opens up just a tremendous amount of exposure and liability for others. Questions obviously exist as to how this minor got ahold of the alcohol, who may have provided it to him, who knew about the intoxication, and things of that nature," England says. Prisca Patrick, an ambassador for Mom's Against Drunk Driving, says... "Every two out of three people are impacted by drunk or drunk driving crash, so that includes our teenagers." According to Patrick, the average person drives drunk 89 times before they're caught. "We are fighting for tougher laws, but yes, it is a lifelong situation."
