One dead in construction zone crash
GRANVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) -- One person is dead after a crash in Granville Tuesday night. The crash occurred on State Route 16 near milepost 15. Robert Lentz, 48, of Newark, was traveling east on SR-16 in a construction zone. No workers were present. He drove off the left side of the road and struck a construction barrel, an embankment and a traffic signal. The vehicle overturned. He was then ejected from the vehicle because he was not wearing his seatbelt. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Licking County Sheriff's Office, Granville Township Fire Department and the Ohio Department of Transportation at the scene.
