Crash involving MPD car causes road closure
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- One person was taken to the hospital after a car crash involving a Memphis Police car early Wednesday morning in the Orange Mound area, which has caused a road closure. WREG crew captured photos of the crash on Airways Boulevard just south of Park Avenue a little after 5:30 a.m., where one person was seen being taken to the hospital. Two vehicles, including the MPD car, could be seen visibly wrecked. Airways Boulevard between Lamar Avenue and Park Avenue is currently blocked in both directions. At this time, the cause of the crash or if anyone was injured is still unknown. This is still an ongoing investigation. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
