One dead after crash in Anderson County, Clinton Highway to close for hours
ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — A part of Clinton Highway in Anderson County is expected to be closed for several hours after a crash left one person dead. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office reported just after 5:20 p.m. that Clinton Highway at Old State Circle would be closed for several hours due to the crash. The sheriff's office said the crash involved one fatality. Tennessee Department of Transportation spokesperson Mark Nagi said the multi-vehicle crash involved a school bus. Nagi added that no children were on the bus at the time of the crash. Tennessee Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the crash. As of 5:35 p.m., Tennessee Department of Transportation's SmartWay Map shows traffic backed up between Edgemoor Road and Mehaffey Road near Claxton.
