One dead after crash in Abingdon Friday evening, investigation ongoing
ABINGDON, Va. (WJHL) — The Abingdon, Virginia Police Department said in a release that one person was killed after a crash in the 600 block of Wyndale Road Friday evening. The department said that at approximately 4:52 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Wyndale Road involving a Pontiac G6 traveling westbound and a Ford Escape traveling eastbound. According to the department, both drivers were transported to the hospital, where one driver reportedly died due to injuries sustained in the crash. The police department and the Virginia State Police are investigating the crash. The release did not provide any identification.
