One airlifted to hospital after head-on crash near UT-CO border on I-70

GRAND COUNTY (ABC4) — One person was transported to the hospital by helicopter after a head-on collision on I-70 near the Utah-Colorado border on Sunday afternoon. Shortly after 3:45 p.m., Utah Highway Patrol (UHP) responded to a crash between a semi-truck and a pickup. The driver of the pickup was reportedly airlifted by helicopter to a local hospital in serious but not life-threatening condition, according to Sgt. Andy Battenfield. Full closures are in place on I-70 during investigation and cleanup, though UHP says one lane will be opened soon. UHP suspects DUI to be a factor in the crash at this time.
