Officer hospitalized after rear-end collision leads to 'domino effect of crashes'

SAN ANTONIO - An officer was evaluated for injuries after a rear-end collision that resulted in a string of crashes on I-35. According to the San Antonio Police Department, the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. near the corner of I-35 N and NE Loop 410. Officers were on scene responding to a separate minor traffic accident. Shortly after arriving, the suspect allegedly collided with the rear of the patrol vehicle, causing a domino effect of crashes. The suspect, identified as a 41-year-old male, was evaluated for intoxication. An SAPD officer was transported to a local hospital for precautionary evaluation.
