OCSO: A Spring Lake man is dead after motorcycle crash in Crockery Township
CROCKERY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash involving another vehicle Sunday morning in Crockery Township, deputies say. The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office reports that they were called to the scene a little before 12:30 a.m. near State Road, west of 136th Avenue, of a motorcycle versus car accident. After further investigation, it was found that the motorcyclist, a 35-year-old man from Spring Lake, was traveling west on State Road. The other vehicle, a pickup truck driven by a 39-year-old man from Kalamazoo, carrying 2 other passengers, was backing up out of a private drive onto State Road, also going westbound. The motorcyclist then accelerated, attempting to pass on the right, when it instead collided with the front corner of the truck. The Spring Lake man was separated from his vehicle and was found to have suffered significant injuries. Life-saving measures were taken, but were found to be unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passengers in the pickup truck were unharmed. The crash remains under investigation.
