NYSP, Genesee County DA to hold press conference about fatal I-90 tour bus crash

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — New York State Police said they will be holding a news conference Friday afternoon regarding the fatal I-90 tour bus crash in Pembroke that took place last August. Five people died and dozens of others were injured after a tour bus crashed on the I-90 in Pembroke on Aug. 22. Passengers ranged in age from 1 to 74 years old. The M&Y Tour Inc. bus was traveling from Niagara Falls to New York City. Many of the nationalities among those injured were Indian, Chinese and Filipino.  The crash occurred near Exit 48A eastbound. State police said the bus lost control, went into the median and turned over into a ditch on the side of the road. The bus did not hit any vehicles. The Erie County Medical Center took in 21 patients as a result of the crash.  Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital received 13 patients and Buffalo General received four. Oishei Children’s Hospital took in three children. University of Rochester Medical Center also took in six patients. The news conference is set for 3:30 p.m. Friday. State Police said the Genesee County District Attorney will also be in attendance. WIVB News 4 will stream the news conference live on WIVB.com.
