NTSB: Jamaica-bound plane for hurricane relief not weighed before fatal crash in Coral Springs pond

A tragic incident occurred in Coral Springs in November when a small plane carrying hurricane relief supplies crashed, resulting in the deaths of Alexander Wurm and his daughter, Serena. The preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board revealed that the plane, which was bound for Jamaica, had not been weighed before takeoff. Alexander Wurm, a well-known pastor from the Cayman Islands, dedicated his life to helping those in need and had founded the Ignite the Fire church. The plane, a Beechcraft King Air B100, was supposed to make a round-trip flight from Fort Lauderdale to Jamaica. Before the crash, relief supplies, including a generator and other equipment, were loaded onto the aircraft without being securely fastened. The report also mentioned that the cargo was not weighed, and the excess weight may have contributed to the tragedy. As the investigation continues, the NTSB will examine all recovered components to determine the official cause of the crash.
