Northstar Ski Resort sees 2 fatal skiing accidents days apart
(FOX40.COM) — A man from the Bay Area is dead after a skiing accident Sunday morning at Northstar Ski Resort, marking the second death the resort has had in over a week. According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, around 11:30 a.m., its coroner unit responded to a fatal skiing incident at the resort. The skier was identified as Stuart McLaughlin, 53, of Hillsborough. At this time, authorities did not release additional details about the accident. "We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones," PCSO said. The sheriff's office confirmed with FOX40 last Wednesday the death of a 26-year-old man from Los Angeles who died after a skiing incident -- also at Northstar Ski Resort. PCSO coroner unit responded to the resort on Feb. 6 after receiving reports of a fatal incident. Officials reported that no additional details about the incident have been released as the investigation remains active. FOX40 reached out to the Northstar Ski Resort for comment.
