No injuries after car crashes into Beverly, Mass., apartment building
An apartment building suffered minor structural damage after a driver crashed into it Sunday afternoon in Beverly, Massachusetts, police said. Beverly Fire Department Deputy Kevin Smith said responding crews found the vehicle three-fourths of the way into the Essex Street apartment."There was an occupant that was pinned in the car and couldn't open the door and get out on his own, so we were able to help extricate him into the backseat," Smith said.Smith said the driver actually ended up crashing into his own apartment."He said, 'This is my apartment.' He was well aware of where he was at," Smith said. "He's been brought to the hospital just to get checked out."Video from the scene showed the driver being stretchered out of the car. No one was injured in the crash and no citations have been issued. The incident is under investigation.
