Niles man facing charge in fatal Columbiana County crash
LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) -- A Niles man is facing an aggravated vehicular homicide charge following a secret indictment in Columbiana County earlier this month. Michael Scheuring, 39, is charged in connection with a crash on Oct. 11, 2025, that caused the death of Diane Lewallen, 44, of Monroe, Tennessee. Scheuring was driving a tanker truck that was involved in a crash on state Route 172 near Zepernick Lake. According to a traffic crash report, the tanker truck went off the roadway, overcorrected and then crossed the center line, hitting a 2021 Ford Bronco. The Bronco then went off the roadway and flipped over. Lewallen was killed, and a 17-year-old passenger was also injured. A Columbiana County grand jury returned an indictment in the case on April 8. Bond was set at $75,000, with an arraignment scheduled April 30.
