New lead surfaces in unresolved Midland case
It has been nearly 24 years since Gregory McRoberts's body was discovered in a deep ditch, with authorities suspecting he was the victim of a hit-and-run incident. Recently, a potential development in the case has arisen, as Teigha McRoberts, Gregory's daughter, now 35 and a mother of four, is set to meet a woman identified as a third cousin of a person connected to the anonymous confession letter sent to Gregory's parents in 2005. Teigha and this woman, aged 62 and residing nearby, have been communicating extensively and are meeting to discuss the matter further. Midland County Sheriff’s Det. Brent Benzing expressed his desire to bring closure to the family after watching Gregory's children grow up without their father. Teigha, remaining cautiously optimistic, looks forward to the upcoming meeting. Teigha and her brother, Scott McRoberts, believe the responsible driver may be deceased but are keen to understand why they never came forward. With the hope of gaining closure, they wish to learn the truth about the accident that took their father's life. If you have information about this case, please contact the Midland County Sheriff’s Office at 989-839-4600.
