NASCAR driver Greg Biffle dies in plane crash

NASCAR veteran Greg Biffle, along with his wife, two children, and three others, tragically lost their lives in a plane crash at Statesville Regional Airport in North Carolina. The incident occurred during a landing attempt at 10:20 a.m. ET, and the Federal Aviation Administration is set to investigate the cause alongside the National Transportation Safety Board. Initial reports suggest Biffle and his family were aboard the Cessna C550 when it went down, according to 1st Sgt. Chris Knox of the North Carolina Highway Patrol. The family members of the other victims, Craig Wadsworth, Dennis Dutton, and his son Jack Dutton, shared a joint statement expressing their profound loss and requesting privacy during this difficult time. The FAA has taken control of the crash site, with the airport remaining closed for the time being for safety reasons. The plane was confirmed to be owned by Biffle's company, GB Aviation Leasing. NASCAR acknowledged Biffle's significant contributions to the sport, including his achievements as a driver and his humanitarian efforts following natural disasters.
