Multiple vehicle crashes cause road closures, injuries in Mid-South
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Several accidents caused several roads to be closed this morning across the Mid-South, following multiple collisions. There were at least six people injured in four separate crashes. Three were taken to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. In Germantown, a driver reportedly had an accident involving a tree. It happened here along Wolf River Boulevard, between Forest Hill Irene and Johnson Roads. This, in turn, forced investigators to shut down all lanes, allowing the Germantown critical crash team to piece together exactly what happened to cause the driver to be rushed to the hospital critically injured. Around 20 miles away, there was yet another collision. This one involved three vehicles, just before 4 a.m., police told WREG. It happened in an industrial area near the airport along Directors Row at Rental Road. It's a stretch of road, one man said, he was unable to access after getting on the city bus. "They blocked it off, cause I don't know, for whatever reason," said Dalyrell Williams, a Memphis resident. At this time, the crashes are still being investigated.
