Multiple injured in Peoria bus crash
Two school buses collided in Peoria, resulting in injuries to several students and adults. The incident occurred near 83rd Avenue and Sweetwater on Friday afternoon. Emergency responders were called to the scene, with a total of 90 students on board the two buses. Seven individuals, including five students and two adults, were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash involved a group of 3rd graders returning from a field trip. The cause of the accident is currently being investigated, with authorities ruling out intoxication and speed as contributing factors. The driver responsible for the collision received a citation for a traffic violation. As a result of the ongoing investigation, 83rd and Sweetwater avenues remain closed.
