Multiple car accidents on I-75 in Metro Detroit

A significant number of vehicles were part of a chain of collisions on Interstate 75 close to McNichols Road in Metro Detroit on Monday. The Michigan State Police, currently investigating the incident, disclosed that at least twelve vehicles were impacted. They also confirmed that luckily no injuries have been reported. The northbound lanes of this section of the freeway in Wayne County were closed by the Michigan Department of Transportation around noon due to the crashes coinciding with sudden snow squalls creating poor visibility in spots. Troopers encountered challenges in redirecting stuck vehicles from the crash and detour routes to different roads. As of Monday afternoon, a report from MSP mentioned 25 different crashes involving 59 cars and semi-trucks. Some drivers left the scene without reporting the accident. The freeway was temporarily shut but has now reopened. Additional accidents occurred throughout the metro area during the day, and people can access MDOT traffic updates on the MI Drive website.
