Multi-vehicle crash on I-90 near Exit 6A injured 5
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A multi-vehicle pile-up on Interstate 90 westbound Monday night sent five people to the hospital. The crash occurred at about 11:09 p.m. near Exit 6A, New York State Police said. An investigation determined that a vehicle driving westbound on I-90 stopped to help a disabled vehicle on the left side shoulder. While the driver who stopped to assist was out of their vehicle, they were struck by an unknown passing vehicle that did not stop. This then led to multiple collisions, as other vehicles reacted to witnessing the incident. One tractor-trailer and eight passenger vehicles were involved in the subsequent crashes. The pedestrian struck by a car and four other people were sent to area hospitals. None of their injuries are believed to be life-threatening. New York State Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
