Multi-vehicle crash closes east lanes on I-64 in Hampton
HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A multi-vehicle crash occurred Thursday afternoon on I-64 at the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel East in Hampton, according to VDOT. All eastbound lanes were closed for over an hour, before reopening around 4:38 p.m. According to Virginia State Police, preliminary investigation revealed that a truck rear-ended a Volkwagen, leading to a chain reaction that impacted two additional vehicles. Two patients were transported to an area hospital with injuries, though the extent of the injuries were not disclosed.
