MPD seeks help after fatal motorcycle crash on I-55, I-240
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A victim who died after being involved in a two-vehicle accident on I-240 and I-55 weeks ago has been identified, and police are now asking for the public's help. Police said on May 12, just after 10:20 p.m., they responded to a fatal motorcycle crash on I-55 southbound west of the I-240 and I-55 junction. They said two male motorcycle riders were involved in a crash. Both men were transported to the hospital in critical condition. Officers said William Stewart, one of the riders, died at the hospital due to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The second rider remains in critical condition. It is still unclear how the crash occurred. Investigators said they need assistance in the crash. If you have information that can help police, contact the MPD Traffic Division at 901-636-4679.
