Motorcyclist killed in overnight crash on I-64
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning on Interstate 64. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on eastbound I-64, east of Ballas Road. It involved a motorcyclist riding a Yamaha YZF-R1. Officials said the motorcyclist lost control of the bike, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guard rail before being ejected. The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old man from St. Louis, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to MSHP. Officials said the crash was reported by the man's family members, who were following behind him. According to MSHP, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
