Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash with pickup truck in Hancock

HANCOCK, Maine (WGME) – Police say a Maine motorcyclist is dead after colliding head-on with a pickup truck in Hancock. Maine State Police say troopers responded to a fatal crash on Route 1 near the Washington Junction in Hancock around 8:30 a.m. on Friday. According to troopers, a motorcycle operated by 44-year-old Jim Hoyt of Sullivan crossed into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a pickup truck. Also read: Maine man charged after fatal hit-and-run in Oxford Hoyt died at the scene. Troopers say Hoyt was wearing a helmet. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
