Motorcyclist killed in crash with stopped pick-up truck
NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio (WJW) -- A 35-year-old Amherst man has died after troopers said the motorcycle he was operating crashed into the back of a pick-up truck. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle fatal crash took place at 7:53 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 on U.S. Route 6, near Sunnyside Road, in Vermilion. "The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado was stopped at a traffic light on U.S. 6 eastbound at Sunnyside Road. A 2025 Yamaha YZF-R7 motorcycle failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead and struck the rear of the Silverado," stated a media release. The driver of the Silverado was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash and was not injured. The driver of the Yamaha YZF-R7 was identified as Corey Yarmock, 35, Amherst. Troopers said Yarmock was transported from the scene with life-threatening-injuries. He later died as a result of the injuries.
