Motorcyclist killed in crash on Briargate Parkway

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Monday morning, June 15, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to a crash where a person had died in northern Colorado Springs. According to CSPD, on Monday at around 9:15 a.m., officers were called to a crash involving a car and motorcycle near the intersection of Briargate Parkway and Lexington Drive. The motorcycle rider received immediate lifesaving measures; however, they died on the scene. The driver of the car was uninjured. Due to the nature of the crash, the Major Crash Team responded. The initial information of the crash indicated the motorcycle was traveling east on Briargate Parkway while the car was traveling west on Briargate Parkway, attempting to turn left onto southbound Lexington Drive, when the two collided. CSPD said at this time speed is being investigated as a possible contributing factor.
