Motorcyclist killed in crash involving van in Los Angeles County
Authorities are investigating after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a van in La Puente on Thursday. It happened just before 6 a.m. on the corner of Amar Road and Evanwood Avenue. The van was carrying at least four people, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Two of those people were transported to the hospital in unknown condition. The motorcyclist died at the scene, according to authorities. Sky5's Rich Prickett was overhead just after noon as the van and motorcycle were seen being towed away from the scene. An officer who was at the scene said an undercover police vehicle was in the area serving a search warrant when the crash happened, but it has not yet been confirmed if that vehicle was involved in the crash. Amar Road is closed for several blocks in each direction while the investigation continues, so drivers are urged to avoid the area. The motorcyclist killed in the crash has not yet been identified, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials. No details were provided about what caused the crash.
