Motorcyclist identified after deadly collision in Pittsburgh neighborhood

A motorcycle driver is dead after being hit by a vehicle in Pittsburgh's Brookline neighborhood over the weekend. Officials were called to Brookline Boulevard around 6:45 p.m. Sunday after an SUV and motorcycle collided. Following an investigation, officials believe an SUV was attempting to make a left-hand turn out of a business when the motorcycle hit the driver's side of the vehicle.The motorcycle driver, later identified by the medical examiner as 35-year-old Michael Rooney, was taken to a hospital where he later died. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene following the collision and was cooperative with officers. An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Officials say they do not expect charges to be filed at this time.
