Motorcyclist dies in single-vehicle crash on Route 17 in Gloucester County
GLOUCESTER COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - A man is dead following a single-vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred on Route 17 in Gloucester County Sunday afternoon, according to Virginia State Police. Officials state that the crash happened at approximately 2:45 p.m. near Enos Road. The investigation has revealed that the motorcycle was travelling northbound on Route 17 when it lost control, went off of the right side of the road and struck a tree. The driver of the motorcycle, 39-year-old Christopher Padgett of Hayes, died at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
