Motorcyclist dies after crash on Route 26 in Paris
PARIS (WGME) -- A man has died after a motorcycle crash in Oxford County. Around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, police got a call about a crash involving a motorcycle on Route 26 in Paris. They say the driver of the motorcycle passed a vehicle and lost control while trying to avoid another vehicle. Also read: Pittston man accused of smashing neighbors truck with front-end loader The bike left the road and hit an embankment. The driver, 33-year-old Carleton Merrill, died at the hospital. Police say speed appears to be a factor in the crash.
