Motorcyclist dead, passenger hospitalized after Friday crash in Griswold
GRISWOLD, Conn. (WTNH) -- A 36-year-old man is dead and another person is in the hospital after police said they were involved in a motorcycle crash on Saturday in Griswold. According to Connecticut State Police, at around 4:31 p.m. on Saturday, troopers from Troop E responded to a report of a collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle in the area of Stone Hill Road and Roode Road. It was determined that 36-year-old Nathan Musto of Voluntown was operating the motorcycle with a passenger when he collided with the right side of the truck. Musto and the passenger were thrown from the motorcycle and came to a rest in the center of the intersection. Musto was taken to Plainfield Backus Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The passenger was taken to the same hospital with suspected serious injuries, according to police. The driver of the truck was not injured. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
