Motorcyclist dead, man charged with DUI after crash in Farmington

FARMINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A motorcyclist died, and a man was charged with DUI on Monday afternoon after a three-vehicle crash in Farmington, according to police. The crash occurred around 4 p.m. on Meadow Road near the intersection with Plainville Avenue (Route 177), police said. Police said a school bus and a motorcycle were traveling west on Meadow Road when they were struck from behind by a pickup truck. The motorcyclist was found with serious injuries and was transported to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. The driver of the pickup truck, 63-year-old Gary Berube, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. At the time of the crash, the school bus was only occupied by the driver, who was uninjured, and a 7-year-old passenger who sustained minor injuries. Police have not released the identity of the motorcyclist who died.
