Motorcyclist dead after high-speed crash in Battle Creek, police say
A motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a vehicle Friday afternoon in Battle Creek, according to the Battle Creek Police Department (BCPD). The crash happened on West Columbia Avenue near South LaVista Boulevard shortly before 2 p.m., police said. The 20-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, police said. At this time, no charges have been filed and the department is not releasing the motorcyclist's name until next of kin is notified. This incident remains under investigation by BCPD, who is reminding drivers to use extra caution when traveling this Memorial Day weekend.
