Motorcyclist, 28, killed after high-speed crash at busy Boynton Beach intersection
A Friday morning crash at a busy Boynton Beach intersection left a West Palm Beach motorcyclist dead. The crash happened around 7:08 a.m. June 12 at Boynton Beach Boulevard and El Clair Ranch Road, and involved a motorcycle and a sedan, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office . Investigators said 28-year-old Albert Garcia was riding a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja eastbound on Boynton Beach Boulevard at a high rate of speed as he approached the intersection. At the same time, the driver of a 2016 Kia Forte was stopped in the westbound lanes, waiting to turn left onto El Clair Ranch Road. When the driver began the turn, Garcia tried to brake, but there wasn’t enough time or distance to avoid a collision, according to investigators. He landed a short distance away on the roadway, deputies said. Garcia, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Delray Medical Center , where he was pronounced dead at 7:35 a.m. The driver of the Kia, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured. The intersection was partially shut down as deputies investigated. The crash remains under investigation, and no charges were filed as of Friday, according to the crash report.
