Motorcycle rider, passenger dead after head-on crash Kings County, CHP says

KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A head-on crash between a truck and a motorcyclist left two dead in Kings County Friday evening. CHP says at around 4:45 p.m., a rider and passenger on a 2017 Harley Davidson were traveling northbound on State Route 43 just south of Lansing Avenue. During that time, officials say a driver of a 2014 Ram 1500, traveling southbound on Highway 43, attempted to pass a semi truck in the northbound lane, and crashed head-on with the Harley Davidson in the northbound lane. When units arrived, officials say the driver of the ram was pinned in their vehicle, suffering moderate injuries. The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead. This is still an ongoing investigation; Yourcentralvalley.com will provide updates when they become available.
