Motorcycle policeman arrested over fatal crash
A motorcycle policeman was arrested Friday for alleged dangerous driving that led to a collision in central Athens with another motorcyclist who was fatally injured. A police statement Friday said the officer faces charges of negligent manslaughter and reckless driving. The suspect was riding his police motorcycle during the accident outside Parliament early Thursday. The other driver, a 63-year-old man, died of his injuries in hospital Friday. The policeman was also taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Police are investigating the precise circumstances of the collision.
