Motorcycle crash on SR-6 leaves one dead, two with minor injuries

UTAH COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A driver was killed and two others sustained minor injuries after a motorcycle was struck by an SUV on SR-6 in Utah County on Sunday night, according to Utah Highway Patrol. On May 10 at approximately 10:14 p.m., a motorcycle was stopped in the lane of travel on SR-6 at milepost 145 with mechanical issues. The driver was working on the motorcycle in a dark area. The passenger was standing in the dirt on the shoulder. While the driver was working on the motorcycle, a Chevy Equinox traveling west on SR-6 struck the rear of it. Both the motorcycle and its driver were thrown off of the right shoulder. The motorcycle driver was pronounced deceased on scene. The passenger did not sustain any injures. After striking the motorcycle, the Chevy Equinox rolled off of the right shoulder. The driver and passenger of that vehicle sustained minor injuries. Lane restrictions were in place during the accident investigation. All lanes have since reopened.
