Motorcycle crash on Coors at Irving shuts down northbound lanes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque Police are investigating a deadly crash involving two motorcycles that police said struck a vehicle Thursday night. The crash happened just before 8 p.m. near Coors Boulevard and Westside Drive NW. Police said a white Toyota RAV4 was traveling south on Coors and entered the left turn lane at Westside Drive. The vehicle attempted to make a left turn when it was hit by two motorcycles, a white 2024 Suzuki and a red 2000 Yamaha, according to APD. The driver of the Suzuki was ejected and died at the scene. The driver of the Yamaha was ejected and taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police were told by witnesses that the motorcycles were traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash.
