Mother, 2 children survive crash with train in Deweyville

DEWEYVILLE, Utah (ABC4) — A mother and two children narrowly escaped tragedy Saturday evening in a crash involving a train in Deweyville, according to the Tremonton Fire Department. At around 5:30 p.m. on April 25, Tremonton and Central Box Elder firefighters responded to a car accident involving a train on Main Street in Deweyville, a small town located in Box Elder County. Upon arrival, crews found a mother and two children who had safely exited the vehicle and did not have any serious injuries. See photos of the vehicle damage below: All three individuals were wearing seatbelts during the crash, fire officials said. The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation. "Tremonton Fire extends its sincere appreciation to Box Elder Communications-BECC, Utah Highway Patrol, Box Elder County Sheriff's Office, and Central Box Elder Fire District for their coordinated response and work," Tremonton Fire said in a statement.
