Morning crash leads to road closure on US 281 in Edinburg
EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A Tuesday morning crash involving tractor-trailers has led to a temporary road closure on U.S. Highway 281 in Edinburg. The Texas Department of Transportation issued a traffic alert, saying a portion of the southbound lanes on Highway 281 are closed between El Cibolo Road and FM 2812. The city of Edinburg also issued an alert, saying the collision involved two tractor-trailers and a van. Traffic is being diverted to the frontage road. The roadway is closed until further notice. Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible and to expect delays.
