Mobile police investigate deadly Old Shell Road crash

(WKRG) — A vehicle struck and killed a male overnight on Old Shell Road, according to the Mobile Police Department. Officers responded around 3:15 a.m. to the area of Old Shell Road and Cosgrove Drive, where they found a male dead, according to an MPD news release. "Upon further investigation, officers discovered the victim was standing outside of his vehicle with hazard lights on in the (westbound) lane of Old Shell Road when another vehicle traveling (westbound) struck him," the release said. The driver of the second vehicle stayed at the scene, according to police. Authorities will release the victim’s name after they notify his next of kin, the release said. The investigation remains active, police said.
