MNPD: Motorcyclist dead following collision along Hermitage Avenue
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A motorcyclist has died following a collision that took place along Hermitage Avenue, officials said. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the crash was reported at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3. A preliminary investigation reportedly indicates that 35-year-old William Scott was traveling southbound on Hermitage Avenue on his Kawasaki ZX1 when he hit the driver's side of a Mercedes sedan, which was crossing Hermitage Avenue from Academy Place. Scott was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died from his injuries, per the MNPD. Witnesses at the scene allegedly told officers that Scott was driving recklessly and speeding before the crash occurred. The MNPD added "there was no evidence of impairment on part of either driver at the scene." No additional information was immediately released.
