Mexico teen dies after motorcycle crash in Oswego County
A 17-year-old Mexico teen died after a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in the town of Mexico, according to New York State Police. Troopers from the State Police barracks in Hastings responded around 2:14 p.m. to State Route 3 at Munger Hill Road for a reported motorcycle crash. A preliminary investigation found that Dalton J. Cummins was operating a southbound motorcycle and attempted to pass another vehicle before failing to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle left the roadway, struck a tree and ejected Cummins, police said. Cummins was taken to Upstate University Hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead. State Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
