Medical helicopter responds to accident in Vigo County
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Monday morning, first responders were on the scene of a single-vehicle accident that prompted a response from a medical helicopter. The accident happened on East Woodsmall Drive in Vigo County. A WTWO reporter on the scene of the accident said a truck with heavy front-end damage was sitting in a field off the roadway. The truck also had heavy damage to the top of the vehicle. A witness to the accident told WTWO that the driver left the roadway and flipped the vehicle multiple times into an open field. Multiple first responders, including a medical helicopter, were on the scene of the accident. David Ewing, with the Vigo County Sheriff's Office, said the driver of the vehicle was extricated from the vehicle and transported away from the scene via helicopter. This is a developing story.
