Medical Examiner identifies girl, 14, killed in San Carlos crash that injured multiple others
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office has released the identity of the teenager who was killed in a serious crash in the San Carlos neighborhood of San Diego on Sunday. The crash happened in the area of 7600 Navajo Road around 11:40 a.m., authorities said. According to San Diego police, a 35-year-old woman was driving a Mazda sedan when she reportedly drove up onto the sidewalk and hit an 18-year-old pedestrian. The car continued and hit a tree in a road divider. The Medical Examiner's Office stated that a total of two pedestrians were struck by the car before it hit the tree. Angelina Cielo Santillan Coronel, 14, was a passenger in the sedan and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The female driver sustained a fractured ankle during the incident. Two other young passengers, ages one and eight, were uninjured, according to police. Meanwhile, the 18-year-old pedestrian was taken to the hospital with a concussion and an injured arm.
